We are the only company that use a precision setup when re-sharpening your cutters, which ensures single facetted cutting edges, and accurate control of sprained cutting tips, producing tips that meet much closer than cutters honed by hand, as used by most other orthodontic plier servicers.

In order to ensure that our re-sharpening service reaches the high standards which we set ourselves, we enforce a strict quality control service.

• Distal end cutters must cut and hold .012, .016 and .017x.025 niti and .019x.025 stainless steel arch wires.

• Ligature and hard wire cutters must cut their specified maximum size and type of wire.

The main service offered at S&A Grinding is our sharpening service which can be conducted on your orthodontic instruments such as:

• Ligature Cutters

• Bracket Removers

• Mauns Hard Wire Cutters

So what does our service consist of?

When we re-sharpen your instruments we will:

• Buff 

• Hinge adjust and replace if required

• Re-shimming if required

• Sharpen

• Quality control

• Polish

*Should sharpening not meet our quality control standards, we will automatically replace your cutter on a service exchange basis with the same make re-tipped.

Our re-tipping service is based on a service exchange criteria, this is to allow us to offer a quick turnaround of your instruments, usually being dispatched with your other sharpened instruments. If you would prefer your own pliers to be re-tipped, this can take up to 6 weeks (please advise if this is the case).

All of our pliers are re-tipped with corrosion resistant LX3 Alloy Tips.

To ensure that all of our work is conducted to the highest quality, we conduct in house quality control.
